Police need help in Midtown jewelry store robbery

Kansas City police are asking for help identifying suspects who robbed a Midtown jewelry store.

The robbery took place on Oct. 6 at about 3:30 p.m., when two  black male suspects entered the Vinca jewelry store at 4801 Jefferson St.

Here’s more from the police report:

The suspects produced hammers, assaulted the employee, smashed several jewelry cases and took several pieces of jewelry.  The suspects then fled in a maroon Plymouth sedan.  The Plymouth sedan has been located by the police but they are still trying to identify the two suspects.

During this investigation the police located surveillance footage of the suspects occupying the Plymouth before the robbery occurred.  Police also located footage of a second vehicle being driven by one of the suspects.

The first suspect is a black male wearing a camouflage baseball style hat, a yellow hooded Missouri Tigers sweatshirt and blue jeans.  The second suspect has braided hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white tee shirt and black pants.

The second vehicle is a silver or tan mini-van.
