Police activity in your neighborhood? There’s an app for that

Today’s report on Midtown from the Crimereports app.

How many times have you wondered what the police were doing in your neighborhood last night? Now instead of asking your neighbor, you can try using a new computer application called “Crimereports.”

Clicking on a crime report brings up more information.

You can download the free app to your iPhone or Android device, and it allows you to see a marker on a map for sex offenders, theft, vehicle theft, assault, robbery, breaking and entering and other crimes.

The application also allows citizens to submit crime tips to law enforcement agencies. You can also follow crime alerts in different parts of town like your children’s school and your home.

The app gets mixed reviews on the Internet from users. If anyone tries it out in Kansas City, let us know how it works for you.
