Pet owners, get a free microchip when you buy a license

The Spay and Neuter Clinic has a special offer on March 22. The clinic is offering a free rabies shot and microchip to any pet owner that purchases a city license for $10.

Here’s more from the Spay and Neuter Clinic:

This offer is open to all KCMO pet owners who are NOT current on rabies, pet licensing and have not been previously microchipped.  Pet owners must purchase a KCMO pet license at $10 to receive the free rabies and microchip.

This special is for March 22, 2013 only – however the full package can be purchased at SNKC’s normal wellness clinics for only $30.   Other specially priced clinics are planned throughout 2013.

SNKC began Project T.L.C. in order to increase pet retention and the reunification of lost pets in the Greater Kansas City Area. SNKC’s Project T.L.C.’s set a goal to tag, license and microchip 10,000 pets in 2013. Only a very small percentage of lost pets entering our area shelters are able to be reunited with their owner due to lack of identification.

The goal is to tag, license and chip as many metro pets as possible on March 22, 2013.  This will:

  •  Identify a pet and help reunite the owner and the pet if it is lost.
  • Give the pet one FREE RIDE HOME if it has a KCMO license on and is found by Animal Control wearing its tags.
  • Identify a pet to local emergency officials and trained rescue personal in the event of a natural disaster.  This will allow owners and pets to be reunited quickly.
