Penn Valley students will ride the bus for free this fall

penn-valleyStudents at Penn Valley Community College can ride the bus for free beginning this fall.

Under a two-year pilot program, full and part-time students at all five Metropolitan Community Colleges campuses can use their school ID as an all-access bus pass at no additional cost to them.

MCC leaders said the program is intended to make transportation less of a barrier to education.

“This partnership is an easy way to give MCC students access to the whole region through RideKC transit service,” says KCATA President/CEO Robbie Makinen, in a news release. “We’re excited to connect college students to the entire region through quality, accessible transit. Students will be able to access not only their education, but also job opportunities and the city’s rich cultural life.”
