Jackson County prosecutors today charged an 80-year-old Kansas City woman with beating her husband to death with a baseball bat.
Annie B. Oliver is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the Wednesday death of Ronald Oliver.
According to court records:
Officers responded to the couple’s house at 4306 Norton Ave. after their granddaughter said Oliver told her on the phone that “she lost it and hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat and cut him with a knife.”
She told the granddaughter it happened after the victim ‘hit her on the hand and started talking smart to her.”
Police arrived and found a scene that involved blood spatter, pooled blood and brain matter. Oliver told them “she had gotten tired of the victim’s verbal abuse and him taking her clothing.”
She said she hit him with a bat “but did not specify how many times she struck him.”
