MGE project on Broadway moves closer to start

mgeIn another step forward, a joint city council committee on Wednesday approved a plat for the MGE building project.

The matter goes to the full city council for final approval today.

The council has already approved the project plan to convert the 8-story office building at 34th and Broadway to 101 apartments.

A second phase calls for a new two-story building to the south with office and retail space, and another phase calls for new 5-story apartment buildings to the west.

Another phase after that calls for 20 units of new town homes.

Developer Joseph Kashani has said the project will transform Midtown with “new life, a new vision.”

  1. The Midtown Plaza complex is being designed by b+a architecture. The 8 story building is into the city for permitting, the 2 story commercial building construction drawings are nearing completion and we are starting on the design documents for the 5 story apartment building. We are ready to get busy on finalizing the design of the townhomes along Pennsylvania.
