Main Street thanks “red shirts” who keep the area safe

Main Street today celebrated the “red shirt crew” that has been patrolling Main Street for six years. The officers do daily patrols of Main Street from 27th to 47th Streets, monitoring activities, assisting with medical emergencies and illegal behavior, and helping visitors and residents of the area.

The red shirts are employees of the Main Street Community Improvement District, which was established in 2007. The CID is hoping to renew and expand its activities this year.

Tomorrow we’ll profile one of the red shirts who has been working on Main Street for four years.
