Eric Adler of the Star had a profile of the celebration of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America’s 25th anniversary yesterday. One of the things members of 11 churches from both Kansas and Missouri did was clean and repair St. Mark’s Hope and Peace Lutheran Church, a nearly 100-year-old church at 3800 Troost Ave., and Childrens Memorial Lutheran Church at 5001 Independence Ave. The church members also worked in the communities around the churches.
