Library Women’s Clinic parks its mobile clinic at 39th and Troost, next to the city’s second busiest bus stop, three days a week. The clinic offers free pregnancy testing and helps connect women to low-cost health care.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, a mobile women’s clinic parks at the corner of 39th and Troost, open for walk ins.
The large vehicle is the outreach service of Liberty Women’s Clinic, a mobile pregnancy testing center.
“We see women mainly with unplanned pregnancies or pregnant women who need help,” says Deidra Crainshaw, mobile services director.

The clinic identifies itself on its website as a ministry of “choice.” In addition to pregnancy testing, its staff offers counseling on options, limited ultrasounds to confirm viability, referrals to low-cost health care and services, and other information. They do not refer women to abortion providers.
“We get calls in Liberty from people in the city who would want to make an appointment, but they didn’t have a way to get to us,” Crainshaw says. The clinic decided to put its mobile clinic on Troost, where it is located next to a busy bus stop.
Crainshaw says the mobile clinic sees women who, in addition to having concerns about pregnancy, may not be eating well or may have drug or alcohol problems.
“We want to reach out and serve in the area that needs service,” she says.
