It’s official: Shields takes 4th district council seat

After an official recount, Katheryn Shields has been confirmed as the winner of the June 23 4^th District City Council election.

Current Council Member Jim Glover asked for a recount after initial returns showed him losing by 132 votes.

Following a recount by Kansas City, Cass and Clay county election officials, the Star said, the result showed 16,564 votes for Shields and 16,391 votes for Glover, according to the Kansas City Star.
