Google Fiber and the digital education divide discussion tomorrow

Those concerned about the impact of Google Fiber on the digital divide and education in Kansas City are invited to a conversation about the issue tomorrow. According to Kansas City school board chair Airick Leonard West, “KCPS scholars, parents, faculty and advocates will gather to discuss the impact of the digital divide on scholar achievement and how our community can best leverage the Google Fiber opportunity to address it.” West says the meeting will be a community dialogue intended to “mine the collective wisdom on the topic.”  The meeting will take place at the Google Fiber space at 1814 Westport Road from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 25.
