Get smart about water efficiency, Monday webcast

Monday is Earth Day, and in addition to your other plans, you might want to bone up on saving water in your home.

The city and Bridging the Gap will host a S.M.A.R.T. water efficiency webcast on Monday, April 22 from noon to 1 p.m. at a variety of city facilities.

The S.M.A.R.T. water efficiency webcast is adapted from Bridging The Gap’s 5 Blue Things presentation and encourages residents to use water wisely throughout their home or business. Kristin Riott, executive director of Bridging The Gap, will lead the presentation.

You can attend the presentation at any of the following locations:

  • City Hall – Council Dining Room, Eighth Floor, 414 E. 12th St
  • Water Services – Missouri River Auditorium (North Side), First Floor, 4800 E. 63rd St.
  • Health Department – Conference Room B, Second Floor, 2400 Troost Ave.
  • Kansas City North Community Center – 3930 N.E. Antioch Road

Giveaways such as water bottles, native seeds and eco-kits will be distributed to attendees and individuals who sign the electronic S.M.A.R.T. water efficiency pledge. Giveaways will be distributed at the various locations while supplies last.

Residents may also watch the webcast at home by visiting and clicking on the “S.M.A.R.T. Water Efficiency Webcast” button. Please note, the webcast is limited to the first 100 participants. Residents who choose to watch from home are advised to tune in early to ensure a spot.
