Get neighborhood ideas at the city’s ideas fair tomorrow

The Mayor’s Challenge Cabinet is hosting its first ideas fair tomorrow.

The goal is to bring together community leaders and their best practices for projects that residents can try in their own communities. The ideas fair  is also meant to celebrate neighborhoods.

Ideas submitted include community gardens, public safety initiatives, addressing blight, economic development, communications and community pride.

The city received more than 40 submissions.

In addition to talking to representatives of the best neighborhood projects, attendees can learn more about available city resources, funding, new tools and technology. City staff will be available to answer questions. Participants are also invited to join the Mayor for a conversation with the Chief Innovation Officer and Challenge Cabinet about neighborhoods and what is being done at City Hall to improve health, public infrastructure, safety and livability.

• Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Public Library (14 West 10th Street). The library is easily accessible via public transit and there is free parking with validation.
