Construction closes Troost Avenue from 24th to 27th

If driving down Troost is part of your daily routine, you’ll need to find another route for a while.

They city says major construction will close Troost from 24th to 27th for the next three months.

The detour will be Campbell Street. Visitors to the Health Department may access the building’s south entrance at 24th and Harrison streets.

Its part of a $7 million street reconstruction project on Troost from 23rd to 30th. The area is getting new pavement, curbs, sidewalks and streetscape elements. The city says the northern section of the rebuilt Troost Avenue will be designed for increased walkability and neighborhood interaction, while the southern section of the project will primarily focus on street reconstruction.

The current phase of construction is scheduled for completion in early August. Substantial completion of the Troost Avenue reconstruction is planned for spring 2015, according to the city.
