Cleaver, Yoder to discuss federal policy reform in KC

Across the state line – across political parties – with a wide gap in their ages – Missouri urban Democrat U.S. Congressman Emanuel Cleaver and Kansas suburban Republican U.S. Congressman Kevin Yoder have become good friends. The two will be in Kansas City Thursday to speak about federal issues that impact Kansas City.

The KC Chamber is hosting a discussion of federal policy reform including immigration reform, continuing sequestration, and the farm bill this week.

The event offers a bi-state, bi-partisan update on what’s happening in the US House as Congressmen Emanuel Cleaver (D, Missouri 5th District) and Kevin Yoder (R, Kansas 3rd District) meet with KC Chamber members to discuss federal issues important to KC area businesses.

The KC Chamber launched this bi-partisan, bi-state policy discussion two years ago when the two House members came together for their first candid exchange on federal issues that impact our region. The two leaders have gone on to develop an inspirational relationship and appear together on radio and at other forums.
