City says trash pickup delayed due to weather

The winter storm has put city crews behind in trash pickup. Here’s the word from the city:

The City of Kansas City  Public Works Department’s Solid Waste Division announced Thursday, December 20 that trash and recycling collections are running approximately a half day behind schedule due to inclement weather. Residents are advised to still put out their trash by 7 a.m. on their scheduled day, but to be aware that it may be collected one day late. If necessary, City crews will work on Saturday to pick up remaining trash and recycling.

Due to winter weather, the bulky item, illegal dumping and trash receptacle collections were temporarily suspended to allow their crews to assist with snow removal. The City is asking for residents to please be patient with these delays in solid waste services.

Residents who have experienced a miss for solid waste services should contact the 3-1-1 Action Center at 311 or 816-513-1313 within 24 hours of their scheduled service day.
