A home at 2626 Tracy in Beacon Hill is the first to be offered under a new city home ownership program.

The city has teamed up with the Kansas City Missouri Homesteading Authority to start the Est. KC program. The goal is to match up first-time home buyers with homes that need rehabilitation. As an added incentive, the homebuyers could be eligible for up to $12,000 in reimbursement after five years.

“Est. KC is a unique opportunity for first-time home buyers to rehabilitate and create a home in Kansas City,” said John Wood, Director of Neighborhoods and Housing Services. “One great feature of the program is the ability to get help paying back college loans, or other family-related needs.”
