From court records and a media release by Jackson County prosecutors:

On Sept. 9, Nelson went to the home of former girlfriend Bianca Fletcher, argued with her and shot her and her boyfriend, Shannon Rollins and her 1-year-old son, killing all of them.

Nelson told a witness he “lost it” and shot Fletcher after she threw a diaper box at him at her home on the 5900 block of E. 84th Street.

Asked why he killed the others, he said, “witnesses.” He also said the infant was crying and he did not want neighbors to hear.

A witness who was with Nelson at the time of the killings said Nelson had him pick up the spent shell casings.

Another witness said Nelson soon sold the gun and falsely reported it stolen. Nelson also told a witness he had showered numerous times and washed his hands in bleach.
