Artspace exhibit inspired by global history

A new exhibit opening February 7 at the H&R Block Artspace at KCAI brings together contemporary works inspired by global events.

According to the Artspace, “Making Histories explores a recent impulse in contemporary art to recall the past and revisit history. Connections between the past and the present are revealed through the artists’ focus on global events during the twentieth century in works that reimagine, reenact, and refigure what has come before and consider the role of collective memory and historical consciousness.”

The exhibit was organized by the Artspace and is co-curated by Raechell Smith, Artspace Director and Dr. David Cateforis, Professor of Art History at the University of Kansas.

The exhibition continues through April 4 and is free and open to the public.
