Alerts for races this weekend

The city warns that two races will affect traffic this week. Please observe caution and obey all posted detours, barricades and no parking signs. Police are prepared to allow motorists to cross the routes when they deem it safe for race participants.

The Mount Pleasant Freedom School Walk-A-Thon/Walk for Literacy takes place Friday, June 27 from about 9-10:30 a.m.and will temporarily close the following streets:

  • East 22nd Street, between Olive Street and Prospect Avenue
  • Brooklyn Avenue, between East 22nd Street and East 31st Street
  • East 31st Street, between Brooklyn Avenue and Prospect Avenue
  • Prospect Avenue, between East 31st Street and East 22nd Street

The Putting the Boots to ALS 5K Run/Walk takes place Saturday, June 28 from about 8-10:30 a.m. and will temporarily close the following street:

  • Ward Parkway, between West 81st Street and Summit Street
