County Executive Mike Sanders and several members of the Jackson County Legislature joined county employees in two Breast Cancer Solidarity Walks on Monday. The walks at the Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence and the Jackson County Courthouse in downtown Kansas City were meant to show solidarity with breast cancer survivors, including Jackson County Senior Advisor Cathy Jolly. “The walk is not about winning — it’s about raising awareness about breast cancer,” said County Executive Sanders. Participants dressed in pink and a giant pink ribbon was placed around both the downtown and the Truman courthouses.
